Can welding robots weld tanks? How is the welding quality? The workload of tank welding is relatively large in welding, and welding deformation is prone to occur. Welding robots can be used for mechanical equipment for welding tanks and pressure vessels. They have compact structure and high welding flexibility. They are widely used in industries such as gas storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and oil and gas pipelines.
Application of welding robot to tank welding:
1. Strict welding process selection. When selecting a welding process, it is necessary to conduct process evaluation according to the specifications, materials, welding methods, etc. of the workpiece, in accordance with the current national standards, to select a suitable welding process. Welding robots mostly use the argon arc welding process for the welding of the tank body. The inertness of argon is used as the shielding gas to ensure the stability of the welding. The strict welding process can reduce the probability of welding defects during the welding process.
2. Improve the welding quality of the tank body. The welding robot adopts different welding requirements for the welding of different tanks, and has different requirements for welding rods, welding speeds, welding wires, etc. For welds with tensile strength σb≥430MPa and plate thickness≥13mm, low-hydrogen type is used. The welding rod is welded with flux-cored wire, which can ensure the welding quality.
3. Liberate the labor intensity of workers. In traditional tank welding, manual welding of tanks requires climbing welding, and direct contact with harmful substances is required during welding, which will cause harm to the human body and cause occupational diseases. Welding robots replace manual work in harsh environments. The welding process can achieve unmanned automatic welding.
4. Increase the welding speed. Since the construction of pressure vessel and tank welding is relatively complicated and the process is cumbersome, strict management of the production process is required. The welding robot adopts offline programming and teaching methods to drill the welding process in the 3D simulation model to optimize the welding process and It is beneficial to increase the welding speed in the actual welding work.
